As of August 18, 2016, 749,645 checks totaling $8,770,694.30 have cleared. 641,400 qty. checks totaling $7,504,586.75 were voided.

As of January 25, 2016, 742,452 checks totaling $8,686,702.95 have cleared. 648,592 qty. checks totaling $7,588,523.55 remain outstanding.

Settlement Update: Posted August 11, 2015

     Pursuant to the Settlement Agreement, on August 11, 2015 the Settlement Administrator mailed 1,391,045 postcard checks to all eligible Settlement Class Members. Each eligible Settlement Class Member received an award amount of $11.70.
     You are an eligible Settlement Class Member if you received a postcard notice or submitted a valid claim by December 31, 2014.
     These checks have an issue date of August 11, 2015, and will become void after 120 days, on   December 9, 2015.  If you receive a postcard check for this Settlement, please cash or deposit it immediately.
     Please note: If you need to request a check reissue for any reason, you must do so before the void date of the initial check, December 9, 2015. If you have questions regarding check reissues, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page on this website.




Settlement Update: Posted June 5, 2015
     
     An appeal of the settlement was filed, but subsequently dismissed on June 3, 2015. The “Effective” date for this settlement is June 3, 2015. Pursuant to the Settlement Agreement, the Settlement Administrator will distribute funds within ninety (90) days of the “Effective” date. 
     Those class members who received a postcard notice or submitted a valid claim by December 31, 2014 will receive payment from this settlement.
     Future developments concerning the distribution date and the quantity of checks to be mailed will be posted on this website. Please check back for updates.


 
Settlement Update: Posted May 13, 2015

    March 20, 2015, the Hon. Madeline Cox Arleo, U.S.D.J., of the United States District Court, District of New Jersey, entered a six-page order reviewing the written submissions and oral presentations made by the parties and the objector, and granted final approval of the class action settlement in Chaudhri v OSRAM Sylvania, Inc. A copy of the Court's order can be viewed and downloaded from the Court Documents link.

    A notice of appeal of the Settlement has been filed. Under the terms of the settlement, no benefits will be distributed until after the Effective Date of the Settlement. The Effective Date, as provided in the Settlement Agreement, will not occur until after the appeal is finally resolved  which, depending on the speed with which the appellate court decides the appeal, could take some time. Future developments concerning the Effective Date and expected time for Settlement distributions will be posted on this website. Please check back for updates.
